Our Current Reality
In this extraordinary time of Teaching and Learning we are all being forced to re-examine and adapt to what school looks like. Fortunately, there is an incredible amount of sharing that is going on across our province and the world with unprecedented access to learning tools, resources and best practices. However, navigating through this incredible amount of information, while also trying to adjust to our current reality can be daunting and overwhelming for many students, teachers and parents.
The resources provided here support School District 57’s Continuity of Learning Plan and will be updated and continue to evolve as more resources are reviewed and developed.
These are exceptional times and while it’s important for children to keep learning, there is no expectation that the pace and rigour of a normal school day be duplicated at home. Teachers will continue to provide instruction and parent/caregiver involvement will depend on the age and ability of the child and the time that parents/caregivers are able to give.
Every family will determine what works best for them in discussion with their children’s teachers. Make use of what you have available and don’t worry that your child is missing out if you don’t have the latest technology. Simple everyday items and activities offer great learning opportunities.”
